About Us...

Nicus was founded in 1992 by a group of people who had been on both sides of the client-vendor relationship. When we realized the technological trend of IT chargeback and reporting systems, we didn’t like what we saw. In most cases, the vendors were setting industry directions, often with very little input from end users. It seemed as if the focus was not “What do our clients need?” but rather “What software and technology will sell?”

Nicus was founded because we realized there had to be a better way to do business.

Our dual understanding of the industry drove our desire to bridge the gap between the vendor and the client. When we began our company, we were sure of one thing - we would build our business on relationships.

In the 14 years we have provided software, consulting and educational services, our clients have grown to depend upon our expertise and responsiveness and to feel that we are partnered with them in the projects we undertake. We have seen many clients struggle through the dramatic changes in the uses of IT financial data and have consistently guided them through this transition.

Historically, users of IT services used IT accounting and chargeback data to assist with tracking and controlling their costs. The actual IT financial data was primarily used by IT technicians within the IT department itself. Today, corporations must be able to make critical business decisions based upon that data. And those using the data are no longer IT technicians with programming backgrounds. Rather, they are now IT financial analysts with a wealth of knowledge in desktop software products. However, most current chargeback technologies do not easily provide sufficient tools on the desktop and the web to capitalize on this skill set. M-PWR has changed that. M-PWR puts the data and tools at the fingertips of those who can best utilize it to manage IT investments.
